Required by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the annual PIT Count is an unduplicated census of those experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness in the City of Lynchburg and surrounding counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell as defined by HUD.
Along with 400 other CoCs across the United States, the CVCoC will work alongside volunteers and partner agencies to conduct the count. This is accomplished through shelter rosters, early morning canvassing, and site surveys throughout the day.
