Coordinated Homeless Intake Access (CHIA)
A centralized entry point to the homeless services for households who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in the City of Lynchburg and the surrounding counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell County. If you experiencing homelessness or will lose housing in the next three days, please call 434-427-CHIA.
Homeless Outreach & Mobile engagement (HOME)
Reaches out to unsheltered homeless individuals and families, connecting them with emergency shelter, housing, or critical services, and providing them with urgent, non-facility-based care
Homeless Prevention
Works to ensure that all households are prevented or diverted from experiencing homelessness.
Emergency & Domestic Violence Shelters
Provides temporary shelter for the homeless in general or for specific populations of the homeless.
Rapid Rehousing
Provides housing relocation and stabilization services and short or medium-term rental assistance as needed to help a homeless individual or family move as quickly as possible to permanent housing and achieve stability in that housing.
Permanent Supportive Housing
Pairs an indefinite lease or rental assistance with supportive services for formerly chronic homeless individuals and families live as independently as possible.
